A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from the Te Anau and Manapouri volunteer brigades arrived at the ‘‘well ablaze’’ truck at 2.20pm.
He did not know how the truck caught fire, though it was not considered suspicious.
It was extinguished in about 40 minutes.
The driver was not injured.
