I enjoy fashion shows, sometimes sitting front-row, watching the sylphlike models stride down the runway in coveted clothing I can only ever dream of owning. (Children are money guzzlers, in case you don’t have any!)

It’s fun and exciting, and as much as watching Netflix, temporarily distracts me from my reality. Which isn't bad... just bills, can I go an entire day without consuming carbs and will I be able to help my 11-year-old daughter with her maths sheet this week? Probably not! You know, general stuff like that.

What I enjoy even more than watching a runway show is being backstage. I love the candid moments - the bored models, the stuff strewn everywhere, the tension and anticipation.

There’s something quite intriguing witnessing the chaos before the calm, the moments before the models take to the runway.

Stolen Girlfriends Club in association with MINI  launched their high summer collection "Be My Turpentine" in Dunedin on Friday night at the Underground Market.

Although they didn't allow media access backstage, their photographer @Kenxuncao took heaps of cool shots of the models hanging out being beautiful.
