A cloud computing based learning solution developed by Dunedin-based ADInstruments has landed another international award.

Lt, its education technology solution, received the Reimagine Education Awards administered by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The award, which ADI described as "the Oscars of education" represented the largest global programme and recognised innovative teaching approaches.

Lt was among 21 finalists in the e-learning category and there were more than 1100 applicants across 18 categories for the award.

"By winning the E-Learning category, Lt proved itself as a truly innovative teaching solution that had been approved by educational experts," a statement from ADI said.

Lt designed a solution which increased student engagements during lab sessions and also in delivery of lab sessions remotely, making science easier for both educators and students.

"Traditionally, science educators in higher education are required to teach practical lab sessions to foster lab skills in their students.

"Many educators want their students to engage in active learning and improve their conceptual understanding."

The team behind the platform was thrilled to see that purpose was recognised.

"We aim to add value for educators and their students with each new feature we add to Lt," ADInstruments education development manager Katie Bracewell said.

ADI had been serving researchers and educators for more than 30 years and Lt was launched in 2015. Lt won the Online Learning Innovation Award in the 2022 EdTech Breakthrough Awards, and it was a finalist or winner in three categories at the 2022 EdTech Awards from EdTech Digest.

Lt had a collection of more than 500 lessons and labs, addressing physiology, nursing, medicine, anatomy, biology and chemistry.

Recently added were 46 lessons and more than 1400 questions on introductory chemistry, and 60 lessons on veterinary physiology.

It had a customer base in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America and South America.
