This week Jetstar announced that it will fly between Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown, starting in June.
It offered $1 flights during a two hour period as part of its launch promotion on Tuesday. More than 80,000 people were online trying to buy a ticket at one point, said chief executive Bruce Buchanan.
