Landon-Lane appointed chief of new CRI

Peter Landon-Lane has been appointed chief executive of the new crown research institute to be formed through the merger of HortResearch and Crop & Food Research. Recently appointed as chief executive of HortResearch, Mr Landon-Lane will take up his new position on December 1, when the merger is formally completed, said chairman-designate Jim McLean.

Mr Landon-Lane's experience in the food industry and trade development in New Zealand, Asia and Europe would be an asset to the new CRI's drive to add value to exports and production of crops and processed foods in New Zealand, Mr McLean said.

A name for the merged organisation will be announced before December.
