She has also been on the boards of Blue Sky Meats, Smiths City Group, NZ Public Trust and the Inland Revenue risk committee, and is a director of EBOS group, Comvita, Skyline Enterprises and Whitestone Cheese.
Brought up on a sheep and cattle farm in Heriot, Ms Ottrey graduated from the University of Otago with a commerce degree in marketing.
She worked for Unilever before moving to DB Breweries, where she progressed to being appointed head of marketing. As marketing manager for Tui, she created the brand’s "Yeah Right" billboard campaign.
After 10 years with DB Breweries, she left to begin her own marketing advisory company focusing on consumer advocacy, brand building and governance work.
In a statement, Ms Ottrey said she liked "everything about the Mt Cook Alpine story", its growing profile, growing prospects and its freshwater king salmon product.
"I look forward to bringing my skills to the table, ensuring we remain both future-focused and customer-focused while being grounded in contemporary marketing thinking," she said.
Chairman Jim Bolger said Ms Ottrey’s marketing knowledge and international experience would prove invaluable as the company continued to grow. The company has salmon farms in Twizel and Tekapo.
