Alliance Group has announced the appointment of James Ogden as an independent director.
Mr Ogden, whose current directorships include The Warehouse Group Ltd, Summerset Group Holdings Ltd and Vista Group International Ltd, replaces John Waller, who recently retired.
He would bring considerable governance experience, business expertise and sound guidance to the board, chairman Murray Taggart said.
Mr Ogden has extensive investment banking and capital markets experience including six years as country manager for Macquarie Bank Ltd and five years as a director of Credit Suisse First Boston.
He also has considerable experience in the rural sector, having served as chief executive of Wellington Dairy Farmers Co-op Association Ltd, financial controller at the New Zealand Dairy Board and chief executive of Whey Products (NZ) Ltd.
He was impressed by Alliance Group's ''expansive global footprint'' from its traditional markets in the UK and Europe through to the likes of China, India and Brazil, he said.
