The Otago Community Trust has appointed a new investment consultant, Mercer NZ Ltd, after seeking proposals from a range of providers.
In a statement, the trust’s new chairman, Andy Kilsby, thanked outgoing consultant Russell Investments for its service to the trust and its role in the growth of the trust’s capital base and portfolio evolution over the past 29 years.
Mr Kilsby, who replaces Diccon Sim, is the regional lead for the Otago Regional Skills Leadership Group, which identifies and supports better ways of meeting future skills and workforce needs in Otago.
In a statement, he said he was looking forward to working with trust staff and his board colleagues to continue to make a positive contribution to the community.
He thanked Mr Sim for his service, saying the trust had reshaped its strategic priorities and launched the Tamariki and Rangatahi Fund — a potential "game changer" for youth in the region — under his leadership. At its April meeting the trust awarded $1,052,968 to support a wide range of community projects.
