Google celebrates inventor of the holograph

Google is marking the 110th birthday of the creator of the holograph with a "Google doodle" - an altered image of its logo on its search page.

Dennis Gabor invented the holograph in 1947, an acheivement that earned him the Nobel Prize for physics in 1971.

Clicking on the Google doodle leads you to further information about Gabor.

Google creates doodles for special events like Christmas, Olympic games or other special days.

Its most recent doodle was a playable version of Pacman to mark the game's 30th anniversary.
