A person was killed in a crash in Geraldine on Friday night.

Police were notified of the single-vehicle crash on Orari Station Rd about 8.15pm.

In a statement on Saturday morning they said the sole occupant of the vehicle was found dead at the scene.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination and it reopened about 2.30am.

Police inquiries are ongoing.
