Exhibitions sharing common theme

Two exhibitions which examine economic and environmental conditions open at the Blue Oyster Project Art Space next week.

"Expensive Rubbish" by Elise O'Neill and Aroha Novak features handmade military and consumer items which have been constructed from recycled materials.

"Here, There and Everywhere [We are a Community of Cells]" by Elspeth Fougere is an interactive collection of caricature cells, which traces histories of relationships between the body and other forms.

The artists will hold free wool-craft workshops between midday and 3pm each Saturday while the exhibition is open.

"Expensive Rubbish" and "Here, There and Everywhere [We are a Community of Cells]" open at 5.30pm on Tuesday in the Blue Oyster Project Art Space.

The exhibitions run until December 24.
