Literary artists celebrate visual artist

Poet laureate David Eggleton and former Dunedin resident, poet and publisher Michael O’Leary (pictured) were among a group of poets who celebrated city visual artist John Francis in a poetry reading on Friday evening.

One of the reading organisers, Port Chalmers writer and historian Bill Dacker, was delighted with the success of the event at the Pea Sea Art gallery in George St, Port Chalmers, where many works by Francis were exhibited.

Matthew Robertson, Jenny Powell, Kay McKenzie Cooke and Alfie West were among other poetry readers at the event, which was attended by more than 40 people.
