All the other boys are already friends and he doesn't know what to do.
Luckily he has a great teacher who involves all the children in preparations for a Matariki feast.
There's a lot going on in this story (how to be the new arrival, an introduction to Matariki, the promotion of baking and gardening) but it all comes together naturally and the illustrations convey Daniel's emotions beautifully.
Ages 2-4.
