The circus comes to town

The big top came to the Dunedin Town Hall last night, much to the delight of about 400 disadvantaged young people.

The Circus Quirkus troupe, made up of Australians and New Zealanders, wowed the crowd with jaw-dropping physical feats and mind-bending tricks.

The Rotary Club of Dunedin venture allowed families not normally able to visit a circus to see professional circus performers, co-ordinator Stuart Melville said. Photos by Peter McIntosh; prints available from otagoimages.co.nz.
