Together with Alan Licht (guitar) and Tim Luntzel, they create vast expanses of freeform acoustic/electric guitar-rock that can leave you spinning.
But there's a sense here that Ranaldo believes cobbling together all the set moves he has learned deliver him a coherent and focused album, and he's wrong.
Still turning in some entry-level lyrics, and overworking a tendency to take a tune in all possible directions, he undoes much of his own excellent work.
