The public memorial service for the late British broadcaster David Frost brought a mob of thousands of the great and good to Westminster Abbey, including a passel of royals and Pippa Middleton.

Middleton, dressed in a conservative navy blue button-down coat dress tied at the waist and matching heels, arrived with several friends, including British broadcaster-and-adventurer Ben Fogle.

Her sister, Duchess Kate of Cambridge, was not there; she's been on a holiday with Prince William in the Maldives in the Indian Ocean.

Leading the mourners at the service was Kate's father-in-law, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall. Also there was Charles' brother Prince Andrew, and Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York, and their daughter Princess Beatrice; and Sophie Countess of Wessex, wife of Prince Edward.

Celebrities included actresses Sienna Miller and Joanna Lumley, socialite Jemima Kahn, actor Michael Caine and his wife, Shakira, rock star Simon Le Bon and his wife, Yasmin,

Frost, writer, comedian, journalist and interviewer without peer for some 50 years, died in August at age 74.
