Blueskin Nursery Cafe date scones.

2 cups self-raising flour
1 cup wholemeal flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
¼ cup sugar
2 cups dates
1 Tbsp melted margarine
2 dessert spoons cinnamon
Zest of 1 orange or lemon
1 cup (approx) milk

- Sift dry ingredients.

- In a glass jug put dates and cover with boiling water. Cook for four minutes in a microwave. Drain.

- Mix all ingredients together and add milk to form a soft dough.

- Shape into a circle and place on a greased and floured baking tray. Bake 15 minutes, 170degC .
