Floods in the UK will have damaged food crops, including staples such as potato and cereals, farmers say. Storm Babet left at least seven people dead, inundated more than 1000 properties, as well as impacting this year’s food harvests after it brought record-breaking rain to many areas. Farmers groups said yields would be affected as crops rotted in the field and called for government action.
