Advance notice of protest

Protesters formed a ''Barnes Dance Flashmob'' at the intersection at the northern end of the central Octagon, in Dunedin, yesterday, to raise awareness of a planned School Strike 4 Climate NZ event in the city tomorrow.

A police spokeswoman said the protesters caused some traffic disruption. The police had received two calls about the matter, at 5.05pm and 5.10pm, and had gone to the scene but there had been no significant disruption and no arrests, she said.

A Facebook post by protest organisers said the action had aimed to ''create a low-level disruption to business as usual while advertising the upcoming climate strike''.

Why not do it on the international day for it? Which would be Saturday?
Oh yeah, that's right, no excuse to bunk school, heaven forbid you use your weekend to protest something you say you care about.
Sounds pretty pathetic to me
