Principal Nicola Philip said the whole school community had pitched in to collect thousands of books and store them in the container over the past year, and now they were helping to put them on display at the Karitane Hall, along with hundreds of magazines, puzzles, CDs and DVDs, for the school's fundraiser, which runs from 10am to 2pm tomorrow.
There will also be a cafe and a sausage sizzle on site.
It was hoped about $5000 would be raised by the event, she said.
"It's significant for our little school. It's our one major fundraiser of the year and it's one where everyone gets on board and tries to help out."
It was hoped this year's funding would go towards supplementing staffing.
"Because we're a two-teacher school, the age ranges in each class go across three or four years and it's useful to have a teacher aide in there, just to make sure that all the children are getting the best education that they can get from that multi-level arrangement."
