Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin will be heaving with visitors this weekend for the Great Kiwi Home & Living Show.

Thousands of people are expected through the gates of the stadium for the show, which is on today and tomorrow.

As well as displays ranging from architecture and design to kitchens and bathrooms, interior design and home entertainment, leading New Zealand chefs Simon Gault, Annabel Langbein and Brett McGregor will be guest chefs at the show.

Fleur Sullivan will also be talking about her life as one of Otago's best-known chefs and restaurateurs.

A fully restored 1901 Locomobile steam car, which was the first car to be seen in Dunedin, will also be on display at the show.

Stallholders were busy yesterday putting the finishing touches to their stands ahead of the show opening at 9.30am today.

Dunedin Venues Management Ltd marketing and communications manager Kim Barnes said online sales had been strong this year and a crowd of up to 8000 was expected.

This year's version of the show includes a bigger food and beverage area as well as more than 100 stalls.

Dunedin Venues Management Ltd chief executive Terry Davies said he was excited about this year's show, which had a bigger focus on entertainment and food.

Allied Press chief executive Grant McKenzie encouraged everyone to get along to the show and enjoy a day under the roof.

The show, which was now in its third year, had grown from strength to strength and this year was set to be the best yet, Mr McKenzie said.

The show runs for two days from 9.30am to 5pm today and 9.30am to 4pm tomorrow. Tickets are available from TicketMaster or the stadium ticket booth on the day.
