The Saddle Hill Community Board last week distributed more than $5000 from its project fund.
The group Parents and Friends of St Peter Chanel School was given $1000 for netball skirts, top and bibs.
The Lions Club of Green Island asked for $2000 to go towards buying 3000 high-visibility jackets for pupils in Concord, Abbotsford and Green Island.
The board gave the Lions Club $3000 instead, on the proviso that more schools in its district benefit from the programme.
The remainder will go towards maintenance at Walton Park.
