A 36-year-old woman sustained minor injuries after her car was flipped on to its roof by another car, on Musselburgh Rise, Dunedin, last night.
Constable Rhys Tait said the accident occurred as one car was turning into Royal Cres and another, carrying a male in his 40s and female in her 50s, clipped the back of it about 6.10pm.
Const Tait said it was an unusual crash, probably assisted by the flipped car being light and momentum carrying it over.
The road was closed for about an hour with a detour in place.
The occupants of neither car were seriously injured and inquiries were continuing.
