Oosterschelde, which was built in 1918, is a three-masted schooner and is travelling along the east coast of New Zealand.
It is travelling from Hobart along the east coast of New Zealand and is estimated to dock at Lyttelton port next Friday.
It is the largest restored Dutch cargo ship and the only remaining Dutch three-masted topsail schooner.
Its home port is Rotterdam and it is used for voyages around the globe.
The ship spent the night near Bluff.
