A charity breakfast in the Dunedin Town Hall next month will raise money for Project Hearts and Hands for Haiti.
The hospitality industry in Dunedin, the Dunedin City Council, Tourism Dunedin, More FM and the Otago Chamber of Commerce have joined together to raise funds.
The breakfast will be held on March 4 at 7.30am and all proceeds will go to Project HHH, an Oamaru-based emergency relief initiative to help earthquake-stricken Haitians.
Project HHH is headed by Robyn Couper, who worked as a missionary in Haiti for 33 years, and she will be a special guest at the breakfast.
Project HHH steering comm-ittee chairman Bruce Albiston said the breakfast was one of the most significant and "hugelygenerous" efforts to date.
"Together with the Waitaki Boys High School 20-hour run later in March and this event, we can see major progress in achieving our first year target of $120,000."
