The irony was not lost on the Roslyn Fire Brigade attending a call-out to the old Roslyn Fire Station, now a cafe.
The crew were called to Coffee Culture Cafe after smoke was seen coming from an oven about 4.30pm.
Station officer Brent Foster said people inside the building were evacuated.
The smoke subsided by the time firefighters arrived, but the call-out was still memorable, he said.
"It is a funny sensation for us going to this place.''
