More tradies' tools taken in town

Thieves continue to target Dunedin tradies' tools.

Power tools and other items were taken from a Toyota Hiace after a door was forced open in Wakari last night.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said it appeared the suburb was being targeted by thieves after another report of a break-in where tools were taken on Sunday night.

There has been a spate of tool thefts recently, including $10,000 worth of tools being stolen from two properties in Mosgiel at the weekend.

Last week $2100 worth of tools were stolen from a truck parked in North East Valley, leading police to urge people to report any suspicious behaviour around building sites or near work vehicles.

Judges need to get on the same page as police and those tradies who have lost things for those tradies who lose their means of making money to provide for families, likewise those who receive stolen tools also need to pay big time. Guttered for the tradies
