A pet cat has been shot and killed in North Dunedin.
Police were contacted on Wednesday after a woman who was house sitting for friends in Uxbridge St, Normanby, was told by neighbours that her friends' cat had been found dead.
It transpired the cat had been shot with an air rifle, Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said.
Inquiries are continuing.
