Protesters marched down George St towards the Octagon in Dunedin on Saturday, in support of Palestine, following recent conflicts in Gaza.

Organiser Brandon Johnstone said speakers at the Octagon discussed ways that New Zealand could support Palestine.

Petitions were passed around, and money was collected for the Gaza Centre For Human Rights, which was recently attacked by Israeli forces.

Palestinian woman Rawaa Elhanafy said despite the ceasefire between Palestine and Israel, Palestinians were still being targeted and ethnic cleansing was still happening.

"The ceasefire is there to shut us up. We’re here to not shut up," she said.
