Paula Brook and her son, Seth (3), sit beside their vehicle which was set alight in an apparent arson attack in Peter St, Caversham, on Wednesday night.
Ms Brook, a single mother, said yesterday she heard a bang just after 11pm and went outside to find the front of her car on fire.
She said a man, known to her, had sent her threatening texts that night, warning her to watch her property and her children.
Ms Brook, who has three young children, said she was ''devastated'' about the loss of the people-mover.
''I use it to take my children to kindy and school. I don't know what I'm going to do now.''
The car was uninsured, she said.
A Fire Service spokesman confirmed arson as the cause of the fire.
A police spokesman said they were investigating.
