The Dunedin Town Hall will be open for people to watch the national remembrance service being held in Christchurch tomorrow.
An event will also be held in the hall starting at 9.30am and the remembrance service will be shown live on big screens between 10am and 11am.
A large screen would also show it live in Harrop St.
Mayor Dave Cull said the service was an opportunity for Dunedin residents to honour the victims of the Christchurch attacks.
There would be speeches from Minister of Health David Clark, Otago Muslim Association chairman Mohammed Rizwan, Mr Cull, Otago Regional Council chairman Stephen Woodhead and Dunedin South MP Clare Curran.
A karakia would close the event at 11.30am.
Arabic and New Zealand sign language interpreters would attend.
The Dunedin City Council advised people to leave bags at home as there would be security checks at the library, town hall, Civic Centre and library plaza.
Harrop St would be closed from 7.30am today and the Harrop St car park from 6pm. The Dunedin City Library car park would be closed from 8pm today, and a section of Moray Pl from upper Stuart St to almost George St would be closed to vehicles from 5am tomorrow to about 1pm.
There would be no vehicle access from Moray Pl to Filleul St tomorrow morning.
Municipal Lane would be closed from 6pm today. Portable toilets would be available in Harrop St, including one with disabled access.
Four mobility parks would be in Filleul St and a drop-off and pick-up point was outside the i-Site in the Octagon.
