Ensemble’s performance of Javanese origin

Members of the Puspawarna Gamelan Community Group perform at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum on Saturday.

The gamelan is a traditional percussion ensemble that originates from the regions of Indonesia, with each variety distinct to its  geographical region.

The set performed at Toitū  was a Javanese gamelan, associated with the royal courts and villages.
