Tahuna Normal Intermediate School pupils Jemelia Fraser-Hosking (left) and Keisha Boyle perform Maori songs to Marne Street Hospital residents yesterday on the final day of the Dunedin hospital's ''culture week''.

Diversional therapist Debbie Wilson said the ''culture week'' at the hospital finished with a ''Kiwiana Day''. Kiwi culture was celebrated by 47 of the hospital's residents and as well as songs, included a poi spinning performance from seven residents, which was followed by a feast of Kiwi cuisine, including cheerios, pavlovas and pies, Ms Wilson said.

Earlier in the week, nurse Abigail Dube, of Dunedin, said she carried a bucket containing 20 litres of water on her head to celebrate Zimbabwe, and then taught residents how to make peanut butter by mashing peanuts with stones.
