Police were kept busy in Dunedin on Sunday, with several assaults reported across the city.
A 23-year-old man was allegedly assaulted when a fight broke out among a group of more than 50 people in Lower Stuart St about 1.30am.
Senior Sergeant Craig Brown, of Dunedin, said the man received bruising to his head. Police were following several positive lines of inquiry into the incident.
A 19-year-old Dunedin man was still in Dunedin Hospital yesterday after he was injured in what appeared to be an unprovoked assault in Corstorphine about 2am.
The man was treated for head injuries and internal bleeding after he and another male he was walking with in Dovecote Ave were attacked, Snr Sgt Brown said.
The other male was not injured in the attack.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at 6am after he pulled his pants down and exposed himself to three females walking in George St, and punched one of the women in the head, police said.
He then spat on officers as they arrested him.
The man was charged with two counts of common assault, two counts of assault on police, resisting arrest and indecent exposure. He will appear in the Dunedin District Court this week.
