Rugby enthusiasts will be in seventh heaven on Saturday when the Central Otago finals day is held at the Queenstown Events Centre.
Wakatipu Rugby Club president Damien O'Connell said the 2013 finals day was being jointly hosted by the Wakatipu and Arrowtown Rugby Clubs.
Three games would start at noon - Upper Clutha and Alexandra would play off for fifth and sixth place in the premier grade, Arrowtown and Cromwell would play off for third and fourth spot and the Wakatipu Wanderers play Matakanui-Combined for the third and fourth position in the bottom five teams.
At 1pm, Clyde would take on Roxburgh in the final of the bottom five, with Wakatipu hosting Maniototo at 2.45pm in the final of the premier competition - the winner of that game will go on to play in the Country Wide final next weekend.
Mr O'Connell said half-time entertainment in the main game would be supplied by various rugby teams, who would each nominate a player to compete in the half-time sprint, determining the fastest player in the area.
Refreshment and food stands would be set up around the events centre, with prizegivings held in the functions room following the Central Otago premier final.
Entry on the day is by gold-coin donation.
