Flatmates spooked by 'suspicious' activity

Female residents of a Queen St flat were spooked by a person tampering with a window at the weekend, police say.

Senior Sergeant Shona Low, of Dunedin, said the ''suspicious'' activity early on Saturday was just one of several incidents at the residence but the only one that had been reported to police.

It happened about 4am, she said.

''When the occupant has made a noise, they have run off.

''It's a bit of a concern with the females in the flat.''

Police were also on the hunt for a person in relation to a burglary in Castle St, North Dunedin, where two guitars, a laptop and a surfboard were stolen.
Snr Sgt Low said the burglary occurred on Friday evening.
