Flights at Dunedin Airport were affected by fog in both Dunedin and Christchurch yesterday.
The airport advised of delays and cancellations throughout the day.
Five flights out of Dunedin were cancelled before 3.30pm and six inbound flights were cancelled or diverted to other airports.
Between 3.30pm and 5pm, two flights to Christchurch and Wellington were able to land at the airport, and two flights to the same destinations were also able to depart.
However, after 5pm the cancellations resumed, with four further outgoing flights cancelled and seven inbound flights cancelled or diverted
Air New Zealand has cancelled two early flights today — the 6.05am flight to Christchurch (NZ5740) and the 6.25am flight to Wellington (NZ680).
A MetService spokesman said there had been a problem with low cloud in Dunedin and Christchurch and it was possible fog could delay flights early today as well.
