Nanette Clark (42), of Waldronville, is searching for her birth father.
All she has is his name and a photo of him with her birth mother at a Shacklocks' staff party in the Southern Hotel in Dunedin in the late 1970s.
An Otago Daily Times report earlier this month about her search had produced ``a very good lead''.
A woman claiming to know her birth mother and father has vowed to help her find him.
Now, Mrs Clark was waiting for the woman to contact her with further details on her father's whereabouts.
``I am hopeful. I think I might get somewhere,'' Mrs Clark said.
