It's too darn hot in the University of Otago's Faculty of Dentistry, which yesterday cancelled all clinics for the next two days, at least.
About 380 people will be affected by the cancellations, which began at 1pm yesterday. There will be no clinics today or tomorrow.
With temperatures in Dunedin predicted to reach 30degC or more, the cancellations were in the interest of patient, student and staff health, faculty dean Prof Paul Brunton said.
Patients would be contacted about rescheduling their appointments.
``The undergraduate and postgraduate students only started today so the clinics are not in full swing until next week,'' Prof Brunton said.
After yesterday's high of 27degC, Dunedin is forecast to reach 30degC today and 33degC on Wednesday.
However, rain is due soon after, dropping temperatures to 22degC on Thursday and 16degC by Friday.
The Urgent Care Clinic will remain open for emergencies.
