At the weekend, she was named winner of the New Zealand Country Music Association (NZCMA) Entertainer of the Year award, and the previous weekend her long-time partner Craig de Blecourt asked if she wanted to get "hitched".
Of course, she said "yes".
Miss Dixon, of Mosgiel, said it was hard to pick which event she was more thrilled about.
"It’s been a long time in the making and a lot of hard work," she said about winning the national competition..
"I’m absolutely thrilled - I’m on cloud nine."
The 27-year-old music teacher said she had been competing in country music competitions, including the Gold Guitars, in Gore, for about 14 years, and qualified for the national Entertainer of the Year award after winning the Star Awards in Tauranga.
At the NZCMA awards, she had to perform in two shows in Auckland at the weekend, against winners from other shows around the country, before judges named her top entertainer of the year.
Miss Dixon said she and Mr de Blecourt were in Auckland the previous weekend to see a concert by American country music singer Brad Paisley.
While in the big smoke, Mr de Blecourt popped the question.
Later, at the show, there was a "kiss-camera", and when it landed on them, they showed her engagement ring to the audience, and both were invited up on stage by Paisley.
"It was the most insane thing.
"We came home for a couple of days to recover from the excitement, and then we were back in Auckland to compete in the NZCMA awards.
"It’s all been very exciting. I’m exhausted, for sure."
Miss Dixon said she now hoped to compete in the transtasman Entertainer of the Year awards.
She was also very excited about heading to Nashville, in the United States - home of country music - where she planned to scope out some performing opportunities.
"A recording contract - that would be the dream.
"And hopefully, I can find a nice wedding dress there."
The couple planned to get married in 2024.
