Dunedin City Council parking officer Stacey Quigley issues a Freddo Frog to a car parked in Cumberland St, Dunedin, yesterday.
Parking services acting team leader Colin Hillerby said more than 340 chocolate frogs were distributed under a Cadbury Chocolate Carnival venture.
Drivers guilty of a pay and display or time-related parking offence, until 6pm yesterday, were issued with a Freddo, rather than an infringement notice.
The day had been a novelty for staff and "anything positive is good for us", he said.
