Landing on course

An Otago Rescue Helicopter lands at the Otago Golf Club on Wednesday.

Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter Trust chairman Martin Dippie said the helicopter landed there as part of a function held for the trust’s sponsors.

He said the trust shared its annual report with the attendees.

"The Otago and Southland community have been very kind to us this year — the machines are the best in the world, and the team collaborating with the hospital, with the ICU and our paramedics is really quite special."

The annual report found that in the trust’s last financial year, which ran until June 30, there had been 2165 completed missions and 1998 patients carried in the helicopters.
