She was a common fixture in the Octagon for many decades, so it was only fitting Dunedin identity Joan Butcher was taken for one final ride.
The casket of Mrs Butcher, who died on Sunday aged 67, was driven on a lap of the Octagon yesterday afternoon following her funeral service.
She received a police escort.
