Lime antics: First a La-Z-Boy, now a bed

The steady stream of strange antics on Dunedin's Lime e-scooters has continued with a pair filmed riding on a bed attached to two scooters last night.

The antics, filmed by Adam Peters who came across the pair after 11pm last night while he was skating home from work, come after a man was filmed last month sitting on a La-Z-Boy attached to a Lime e-scooter and riding it the wrong way down a cycle lane.

Mr Peters said it looked like the pair riding on the bed, at the car park near Supercheap Auto off Cumberland St, were having a "great time".

It did not look like they were in any danger, he said.

"They were going pretty slow ... at a safe speed for a bed."

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
