Crews rush to Balclutha house fire

    Fire and Emergency crews are responding to a house "well alight" in Balclutha's Cromer St.

    A Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said two crews from Balclutha and one from Kaitangata were responding to a residential dwelling that was "well alight" on their arrival.

    A police spokesman said they had been notified of the blaze at about 7.30pm.

    A reporter at the scene said Cromer St was blocked to traffic from Yarmouth St to Gormack St. 

    Neighbours did not think anyone was home when the fire broke out.
