Lovely lilies

Mrs Wells’ Oriental white lilies "Casablanca" won the premier stem section.

A scorching summer meant they needed more watering than usual, she said.

"They were coming in so early we thought we might not even get a show this year. I had to pick them on Wednesday and keep them cool."
