Man injured in car rollover

A man was taken to hospital with moderate injuries after he flipped his car on to its roof in Portobello Rd, Dunedin, last night.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand  station officer Ant O’Neill said it was unclear how the vehicle ended up "on its lid" near Vauxhall Yacht Club about 10pm.

Mr O’Neill said the one male occupant  transported to Dunedin Hospital.

A police spokeswoman said his injuries were assessed as moderate last night.

There were no other vehicles involved in the incident, which blocked the road for about 45 minutes before emergency services  removed the car.
