Wenita had planned to sell about 1000 tonnes of radiata pine which had been salvaged from an area near the Mt Allan forest fire in February.
However, Wenita commercial manager Anne Horsewood said there were concerns about vehicles getting stuck in mud in the logging area.
"We were there from 7.30am to 10.30am turning people away.
Hopefully, they'll be back when we hold it in a couple of weeks."
