A new home has been found for the Accident Compensation Corporation as it prepares to add more than 100 new jobs to its Dunedin operations later this year.

The ACC has confirmed plans to move into 276 Princes St, at the corner of High St, the building formerly occupied by Gallaway Cook Allan.

An ACC spokesman said the building would be one of its permanent bases in the city.

The organisation expected its recruitment process would begin, and decisions about roles would be announced, in early June, he said.

The new roles would begin in August, but the ACC was still in consultation with staff on aspects of the move and needed to consider feedback before making final decisions.

The ACC announced last month it planned to add 102 new roles in Dunedin as part of structural changes.

Other new roles would be created in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch.

The new ACC structure proposed having 409 roles in Dunedin, an increase of 102 overall, although many of those positions were different from current roles.

The new roles were to work with clients recovering from less severe injuries, such as sprains, strains and fractures, which made up 94% of claims and did not usually require face-to-face support.
