
Progress results, which may change, showed a further three community board incumbents were not returned at Saturday’s election, while successful and unsuccessful candidates were separated by only a couple of votes in three races.
Brian Peat and Austen Banks returned to the Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board, joined by new arrivals Andrew Sutton, Steve Wilson (both of Future Dunedin), Rebecca Shepherd and Rose Finnie (Greens).
Ms Finnie led highest-polling unsuccessful candidate Malcolm Anngow by three votes.
Incumbents John Moyle and Paul Weir returned to the Saddle Hill Community Board with new arrivals Lianna MacFarlane, Tracey Boereboom, Barry (Baza) McLellan and Vianney Santagati filling out the remaining four seats.
Pim Allen missed out on re-election.
In Strath Taieri, Robin Thomas and Terina Geddes were re-elected alongside newcomers Ken Bain, Bruce Thomas, Donna Hall and Quentin "Soddy" MacLeod
Incumbents Tony Markham and David "Jock" Frew missed out — Mr Frew just three votes behind Mr MacLeod.
All four incumbents standing for re-election were successful in Waikouaiti Coast — Alasdair Morrison, Sonya Billyard, Geraldine Tait and Andy Barratt will be joined by Anna Knight (Building Kotahitaka) and Brian McCutcheon.
Mr McCutcheon led highest-polling unsuccessful candidate Danny Hailes by two votes.
All four incumbents standing in Otago Peninsula — Paul Pope, Hoani Langsbury, Cheryl Neill and Stacey Kokaua-Balfour — also returned.
They are joined by Emma Strybosch and Hugh O’Neill.
Jarrod Hodson (Future Dunedin), Wayne "Blackdog" Sefton, Ange McErlane and Duncan Eddy were re-elected to the West Harbour Community Board, joined by newcomers Marian Poole and Barbara Olah.
